County Farm House Romania For Rent

Casa Pelu, the country house, is situated in the pastoral village of Vale, directly at the feet of the Carpathian Mountains, and just a stone's throw away from the mediaval city of Sibiu in Transylvania. It houses the completely refurbished living quarters of an abandoned farm, in which tradition meets modernity.

During the renovation every square meter was handled with attention to detail. On the solid foundations of wine cellar and mezzanine floor we set a new attic with access to a cosy roof terrace. Now, this country cottage is ideal for hiking holidays and families looking for a child-friendly countryside retreat in Romania.

Ascending to the mezzanine floor, the walk-in kitchen (13 sqm) has dual entrances and is fully-equipped with a fridge, gas stove, coffee maker, espresso machine, toaster, kettle, an array of spices, and more.

The first room (17 sqm) leads off the kitchen. Three windows open the view to the courtyard and onto an alley where goats and sheep pass by in the evenings.

An exterior staircase, adorned with a balcony landing, guides one to the luminous realms of the attic. The initial 13-square-meter room serves as a connecting space, while the subsequent 17(sqm) room leads gracefully onto the enchanting roof terrace.

A revelation occurred years ago during the meticulous disassembly of the decayed roof, exposing the distinctive charm of this locale. Enthralled by the prospect, we conceived the idea of crafting a snug terrace, granting panoramic views that extend to the village church or delve into the verdant embrace of the courtyard.

The rooms each have a double bed, mirror wardrobe, corner bench or armchair, as well as WiFi internet and two LED TVs. On your arrival you will find the beds freshly made.

Descending beneath the terrace, the bathroom, occupying 8 (sqm) and once the summer kitchen of the farm, beckons with a blend of functionality and elegance. Here, you'll discover a well-appointed space boasting a shower, bathtub, washing machine, and toilet. Towels, both hand and bath, are thoughtfully provided, accompanied by indulgent touches of soap and shower gel.

The commitment to excellence extends to the furnishings, meticulously chosen and of superior quality, encompassing sanitary facilities, kitchen utensils, mattresses, and bedding. Every piece of furniture, from the newly installed windows and doors to the carefully crafted stairs, bears the mark of bespoke craftsmanship, ensuring a seamless integration of comfort and style throughout the space.

The solar-assisted central heating is backed up threefold. Either you fire up the water-bearing tiled stove in the kitchen, which supplies all the radiators in the house, or an automatic control takes over the job and starts a gas heater. You can set the temperature with a room thermostat.

The enclosed courtyard, adorned with lush foliage, serves as a visual delight. Here, an additional covered terrace invites relaxation—whether unwinding with a bottle of wine or engaging in a spirited card game. Venture beyond the threshold, past the village church, and find yourself amidst a thriving mixed forest, embarking on a serene journey towards mountain meadows.
